Julia is a Ukrainian-born, Swiss-based photographer working across travel, portrait, and contemporary art photography. After building a successful international career in marketing, she shifted her focus to photography in 2014. Her artistic direction evolved further in response to the 2021 travel bans and the war in Ukraine, leading her toward long-term, research-based projects rooted in identity, displacement, and human emotion.
Her work has been published in National Geographic, The New York Times, GEO, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Forbes, and Le Figaro, among others, and exhibited in over 10 countries including Japan, Switzerland, France, and the U.S. Julia teaches photography at SwissPhotoClub and has received numerous international awards, including “Photographer of the Year” at the Moscow International Photo Awards. Her work was recently featured in the books 100 Contemporary Ukrainian Photographers and Fresh Eyes Talent.
